Working for Schindler lifts, we carried out the removal of a 4 stop traction lift. Since the shop was still trading, we were required to carry out the work at night. Having the general public on the site during the day meant that we had to set up lockable, painted hoardings for four entrance doors to the shaft. This ensured that the site remained secure and still looked presentable. We also had to work around the mains power supply and phone line so these were left in place for the running of the store.

Along with the task of removing the lift, we carried out varied associated works, including the setting up of scaffolding, hoardings and floor protection. We also carried out the testing of hoops to the shaft head and preliminary works for the installation of the new lift.
